Digital Waste Tracking Software

The UK government's mandatory Digital Waste Tracking (DWT) service is live for waste receiving sites in England and Wales, and becomes mandatory in Northern Ireland and Scotland in January 2027. Licensed and permitted sites must report every load they receive digitally — alongside, not instead of, the Waste Transfer Note.

WTNs still required
Digital waste tracking does not replace your duty of care. You still need a valid Waste Transfer Note for every transfer — WasteBolt creates both from the same data.
API software is the practical route
The government's spreadsheet upload is a temporary option. Software connected to Defra's DWT API, like WasteBolt, submits each load automatically.
Penalties for non-compliance
